Norma Hosten-McDavid
is a Probation Officer, presently attached to a London based Youth Offending Team. She has a Masters Degree in Criminology, Youth Justice and Community Safety and 15 years experience as a practitioner in several fieldwork settings, working with high risk offenders, group work, child protection and young offenders.
Norma believes that "change is an inside job" and whilst advocating the need for traditional values like self-respect and respect for others, she challenges conventional thinking in favour of teaching pragmatic skills and self exploration that promote confidence, change and growth.
Based on her passion and belief in being the best you can be, Norma is dedicated to helping young people address problematic issues and realign their thinking to embrace new options and solutions which can lead them to the fulfilment of their goals.
Having worked extensively with young people, Norma has a natural flair and ability for engaging with them, drawing on specialist training in counselling and in coaching techniques, that have been acquired and developed throughout her professional career.
